微熱の「まぁいいか」は危険!インフルエンザ予備軍かも?

なんだか体がだるくて、熱を計ってみると微熱程度、どうせ風邪だろう、と無理して仕事にいこうとしている方、少なくないのではありませんか。
もちろん、本当に軽い風邪程度でしたら、お仕事に行かれてもいいとは思います。
しかし、その「軽い風邪」が実はあの恐ろしいインフルエンザだとしたら、みなさんは体のSOSを見逃していることになるんです。

本記事では、インフルエンザと風邪(普通感冒)の違いから、インフルエンザを防ぐ簡単な予防法までをご紹介していきます。ご自身が辛い目に合わないようにすることももちろんですが、周りの人に感染させないというのも、とても大事なことですよね。この記事がみなさんのお役に立てれば幸いです。

知っておきたいインフルエンザ知識

そもそもインフルエンザというのは、人の生活に重大な影響を与える感染症として、厚生労働省がHP内でインフルエンザ用の特設ページを作るほど、危険なものということはご存知でしたか。

一般的には「高熱が2・3日でて辛くなる」という認識だと思いますが、体力のない、お年寄りや幼児、また妊婦さんが感染すると、長期にわたって高熱が出たり、最悪の場合、死に至るケースもあるのです。

次に、この恐ろしいインフルエンザと軽い風邪の違いをみていきましょう。

インフルエンザと風邪(普通感冒)の違い

風邪

  • 初期症状:鼻水、のどの痛みなどの部分発症
  • 熱:微熱、もしくは平熱
  • 合併症:ほとんどない。
  • 進行速度:ゆるやか、少数に感染の恐れ

インフルエンザ

  • 初期症状:震えるくらいの悪寒、鈍痛、関節痛など全身症状
  • 熱:高熱(38度〜40度弱)
  • 合併症:気管支炎、肺炎
  • 進行速度:急激、大多数に感染の恐れ

簡単な比較ですが、これだけでもインフルエンザというウイルスが私たちに及ぼす影響はおわかりいただけたと思います。

感染しない、感染させない!

では、この感染力は止められないのでしょうか。
いいえ、一人一人がしっかり抵抗力をつけ、正しい予防方法を行っていれば不可能ではないはずです。

インフルエンザは結局「感染症」

インフルエンザの主な感染経路としては、飛沫感染や低湿度の空間での感染者との接触などがあげられます。

よく考えてみると、この感染方法、風邪とあまり変わらないですよね。

この点がみても、インフルエンザにかかりたくないからといって、特殊な予防方法はないのです。

対策法としては、

  • 「かからない」ではなく「重症化させない」ワクチン接種!
  • (人間の体に入って、毎年姿をかえつつあるウイルスに対抗するワクチンを作り出すのは難しいという現状にあります。そこで、インフルエンザにかかっても「重症化」させないワクチン接種が重要になってきます)
  • 湿度を意識してあげて!
  • (空気の乾燥はインフルエンザの一番の味方になってしまいます。インフルエンザさんが大好きな季節はずばり乾燥している冬です。50~60%を目安に、加湿器が無い場合でも、洗濯物や濡らしたタオルを部屋にかけておくだけで対策にはなりますよ)
  • マスクはつけて損はなし!
  • (低価格のマスクでも、着脱時に意識をして行動していれば感染リスクは低くなるという結果がでています。もちろん、高性能マスクは安心ですが、毎日つけることが大事ですので、お財布とご相談しつつお使いください。)
  • 冬は自分の体に甘くなって!
  • (特に冬は、微熱が出るなどの体の変化を感じたら、すぐに休むようにしてください。抵抗力が下がっている時というのは普段よりも感染しやすい状態という意味です。お腹をすかせたライオンの群れの中に、子鹿が放り込まれたと思ったらぞっとしますよね。体を酷使させず、休める時にはゆっくり休息をとってくださいね。)

インフルエンザにかかってしまったらまずは・・

これだけがんばって予防をしていても、インフルエンザというのはするっと人間の体の中に入ってきてしまうものです。
一度侵入を許してしまうと、高熱・重度の倦怠感などのインフルエンザ症状が現れてきます。

では、実際にかかってしまったらどうしたらいいのでしょうか。

一に受診、二に安静

風邪だと思っても、インフルエンザが流行っているという情報が流れていたらすぐにかかりつけのお医者様のところへの受診をおすすめします。
なぜなら、万が一インフルエンザが発症した場合でも、早めの治療で重症化が防げたり、ほかの人への感染拡大も防げるからです。

そして、高熱が出るので、しっかり寝ること、これがとっても大事なのです。
体力を回復させ、さらに水分補給も忘れずにしておく、これが最速の回復方法と言われています。

自己判断の解熱剤投与はハイリスク

どんなにお仕事や学校が忙しくても、決して自己判断での薬投与はしないでください。
命に関わる場合もありますが、薬が逆効果になる場合もあることを忘れないでほしいからです。
この逆効果という意味ですが、これは解熱剤が特に当てはまります。
インフルエンザで高熱が出て、辛いとき、飲みたくなる気持ちはとてもよくわかります。ですが、本当にもう眠れないくらいになるまで我慢してほしいのです。
なるべくなら飲まないでほしいのが私の気持ちです。
なぜなら、熱が出るというのは体が一生懸命ウイルスと戦っている証だからです。

ウイルスが体を蝕んでいるのに、解熱剤で「仕事しなくていいよ」と言われた私たちの体は休むしかありません。そうなると、一時的に熱は下がっても、通常のインフルエンザより長引いたり、さらに合併症などを引き起こしかねません。
