そこで、本記事では偏頭痛をはじめとした妊娠中の頭痛の原因と自宅でできる対策方法をご紹介していきます。元気に新しい命を迎えるためにも、つらい偏頭痛をのりこえましょう。

妊娠中の体の変化

医

生理の前や生理中に偏頭痛がおこる人は多いのではないでしょうか。

生理によっておこる偏頭痛は、女性ホルモンである「テストステロン」が生理前の排卵期に急激に減ることが原因です。

妊娠すると、新しい命を育むためにテストステロンをはじめとした様々なホルモンのバランスが乱れます。また、骨盤も大きく広がり、骨や筋肉のバランスも乱れてしまいます。そのような結果、体が変化に対応できず「つわり」として偏頭痛や吐き気などの症状が、酷いときには一日中あらわれます。

ただ、妊娠中期以降になるとバランスも整ってくるので、この時期は比較的偏頭痛などの不快な症状が落ち着きやすいといわれています。しかし、子育てが始まると、子どもにつきっきりとなるため、自分のケアはなかなかできません。

出産後は体が元の状態に戻るため、もともとあった偏頭痛の症状が現れやすくなります。妊娠中にきちんと体のケアをして、偏頭痛をおこりにくい状態にすることが大切です。

妊娠中におこりやすい頭痛

妊娠中は体内バランスが乱れるため、色々な原因で頭痛もおこりやすくなっています。
そこで、妊娠中におこりやすい頭痛を偏頭痛も含めて5つに分類しました。

  1. 偏頭痛
  2. 緊張型頭痛
  3. 鉄欠乏性貧血による頭痛
  4. 副鼻腔炎による頭痛
  5. 高血圧による頭痛

①偏頭痛

主に妊娠初期におこりやすく、目の前がチカチカする、ズキズキと脈打つように痛むなどの症状が現れます。頭痛が酷くなると吐き気やめまいも感じます。

症状の予防には、下記の方法が有効です。

  • 十分な睡眠をとる
  • ストレスをためない
  • 生活のリズムを崩さない
  • チョコレート・ワイン・チーズ・味の素・ハムなどの加工肉の摂取を控える
  • ビタミンB2とマグネシウムを意識してバランスの良い食事を心がける
  • もし食べられなくても、飴などで定期的に糖分は摂取する

もし偏頭痛がおこってしまったら、明りの強くない、静かな場所で横になって過ごします。

痛みには、頭をアイスノンなどで冷やす、頭痛に効くツボを押すなどがいいでしょう。首の後ろ側、頭と首の境目には頭痛に効くツボがあります。鎮痛剤は極力使わないほうがいいですが、医師に確認して許可が出たものを使用しましょう。ロキソニンは比較的許可が出やすいようです。

②緊張型頭痛

偏頭痛と同じく、妊娠初期におこりやすい頭痛です。圧迫するような重い痛みを長時間感じます。ストレスや姿勢の悪さが原因となりやすいとされており、日常生活で予防をすることが重要です。

症状の予防には、下記の方法が有効です。

  • ストレスをためない
  • 長時間のパソコンなどで同じ姿勢を続けない
  • 適度な運動をする
  • 高すぎる枕は高さを調整する
  • マッサージなどで患部を温める

妊婦用のマタニティースイミングやマタニティーヨガなどの講座もあるので、そのようなものに通うのもいいでしょう。また、偏頭痛の項目にある首の後ろのツボは緊張性頭痛にも効果がみられます。

③鉄欠乏性貧血による頭痛

息切れ、動悸とともに頭痛がおこります。体内の子どもに栄養がまわるため、鉄分やたんぱく不足になりやすく、かなりの割合の妊婦が貧血であることがわかっています。

症状の予防には、下記の方法が有効です。

  • コーヒーや紅茶などのタンニンの摂取を控える
  • 食事は3食バランスよく食べる
  • レバー・赤身の肉・魚で吸収しやすいヘム鉄を取る
  • 緑黄色野菜・果物でビタミンを取る

病院で貧血と診断されると、鉄剤や造血剤を処方されることがあります。鉄剤は胃のむかつきや便秘をおこすこともあるので、毎日の予防が大切です。

④副鼻腔炎による頭痛

風邪のような鼻水、鼻づまりをともなう頭痛です。ときには顔面や歯に痛みが出ることも。妊娠中は免疫機能が弱くなりやすいため、このような鼻の炎症も出やすくなります。

症状の対策には、下記の方法が有効です。

  • 部屋の換気をし、室内を清潔にする
  • 体を冷やさない
  • 鼻うがいをする
  • どくだみ茶、なたまめ茶を飲む
  • ペパーミントのエッセンシャルオイルを吸引

病院では、強い抗生剤は使えませんが、膿の吸引、点鼻薬、漢方など影響の少ないものは処方してもらえます。漢方は思わぬ効果もありますので、妊娠中は自己判断で飲むことは避けましょう。

⑤高血圧による頭痛

妊娠末期の8~10ヶ月に多く、頭痛とむくみ・たんぱく尿・高血圧などの症状がある場合、妊娠高血圧症候群(妊娠中毒症)が疑われます。胎児にも影響が出る危険性があり、早い対処が望まれます。

症状の予防には、下記の方法が有効です。

  • 適度な休息をする
  • 十分に睡眠をとる
  • ストレスをためない
  • 減塩、高タンパクの食事を心がける
  • カルシウムやカリウムの摂取を意識する
  • 糖分、動物性脂肪を減らし低カロリーを意識した食事をする

軽度の場合、食事療法や家庭で安静にすることで症状は治まりますが、家庭で安静にできない場合や重症の場合は入院治療が求められます。重症になると母体、胎児ともに大きな影響が出ることがあるので、予防と早期発見が求められます。
